Elementary School Newsletter 4.22.2024

Dear Elementary Families,

Get ready for an extraordinary event this week as we host our annual Multicultural Fair on Thursday, April 26th! It's a day filled with excitement, joy, and unity as we come together to celebrate the diverse blend of cultures that enrich our PCS community.

Please take a moment to check out the flyer below for the schedule of activities. We're thrilled to extend a warm invitation to everyone to join us at the peace rally. Your presence will truly make the occasion even more memorable. We can't wait to see you there!

Cyber Safety Presentation for Parents/Guardians:

On May 7th, from 4:30 to 5:30 PM in the Middle School cafe, we will be holding a cyber safety presentation and Q&A session led by a local FBI Special Agent. This presentation will be for parents/guardians only.

In today's digital age, ensuring our children's safety online is paramount. That's why we've invited an expert to share invaluable insights and tips on navigating the digital landscape safely and responsibly. This presentation will cover cybersecurity best practices, recognizing online threats, protecting personal information, responding to cyberbullying, and most importantly, how to talk to your student about the importance of cyber safety.

This is a great opportunity to empower yourself with the knowledge and tools needed to safeguard your child's online experience. We hope to see you there!

4th & 5th Grade Cyber Safety Presentations:

Last week, we had the privilege of hosting local law enforcement officers who spoke to our 4th and 5th-grade students about cyber safety. The officer did an exceptional job raising awareness among our students about how their choices on social media can impact others. They covered crucial topics such as cyberbullying, cyber harassment, and the permanence of our digital footprint, emphasizing that even after deleting posts or texts, traces may remain.

As Maya Angelou wisely said, "When we know better, we do better." We believe in the power of education to shape positive behavior, and we are eager to watch our students grow in their cyber choices. We urge parents to continue reinforcing these important conversations at home. Together, we can empower our children to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly.

Noticias de la biblioteca:

The end of the year is coming fast which means it is time to return library books! Our students may borrow books until Monday April 29th. All library books are due back in the library by Monday, May 6th. Please be on the lookout for overdue notes coming home in the next few weeks and either return missing books or let Mrs. Ramsey know if they are lost! Thanks for your help!

Coffee With The Principals:

Save the date! We will be hosting one more elementary principal & parent meet-up this year on Tuesday, April 30th at 9:00 am. We have so enjoyed connecting with parents over the last several meet-ups that we’ve hosted and look forward to our last one of the year. We hope you can make it! Please use the link below to sign up if you plan to attend.
