Elementary School Newsletter - February 22nd, 2022

Two-day on Tuesday 2-2-22 we celebrated a once in a lifetime event. I don't think I'll be around for the next one. If you saw me running around campus in a tutu then now you know why! We are still having fun around here and hope that your kids can continue to share joy with their peers and teachers for the rest of the school year!

Weather update: If we are unable to be at school with the upcoming expected weather for the middle of the week we are planning to make these days virtual learning days as opposed to snow days. We know our students have had so much disruption in their learning and we would like to try to avoid that this week if possible. We will plan to send computers and chargers home in case we have inclement weather. We want to give you as much of a heads up as possible so that you can plan accordingly if we do get bad weather.

Black History Month: This week's link for Black History Month centers around joy. Too many times we center Black history around slavery and civil rights but there is too much more for us all to learn.

Before and After Care 22-23: Please note the  22-23 SY BAC Application for next year. The 1st lottery will be April 15th and the 2nd will be May 6th. All families will be notified prior to summer break so that they have advance notice to make other arrangements if necessary.

This is for all parents that have kids receiving special education services at PCS:

Estimados padres,

The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education values the opinions of all parents in Missouri’s schools. We would appreciate you taking the time to respond to this brief survey about the special education services your child receives. This survey is confidential; your individual responses are not shared with the school district or anyone else. Only a summary of all responses is provided to school districts in order to help all schools improve education for our children.

You may complete this survey online.  Please complete by March 31

Thank you very much for providing your input. (1) Online: Go to http://spec.education/ and enter the following Access Code: JUJYHA
