Middle School Newsletter - September 20th, 2021

September 20 (2021)

August is always so busy as we prepare and plan for a new school year. This August proved to be no different, as we wanted to ensure that we were doing everything we could to provide our students with the best educational experience possible while navigating around the obvious hurdles. We all were very cognizant that the last year and a half would have an impact on our students both academically, socially and emotionally.

You can ask any middle school team member and they will, without hesitation, tell you how I am always stressing how critical it is that ALL of our students have an exceptional educational experience while at PCS. One way we can do this is by being consistent with them in the classrooms.  However, this pandemic certainly has made this extremely difficult for us. As I mentioned earlier, we are always reflecting and evaluating what we are doing, pre-pandemic and currently, but now more than ever we are constantly having to pivot and make necessary changes.

Change can be scary, frustrating and even confusing at times. But change often brings about great opportunities and experiences we may never have been exposed to. I am asking you to please keep an open mind as there will be times throughout this year that we will have to make changes to what we are currently doing. I know I have said this before and will continue to say this...we can’t do this alone. We need your support and grace now more than ever before. I am asking that you trust us and keep in mind that every decision we make, we do so with your child’s best interests in mind. As always we are reflecting and evaluating what structures, procedures and processes we have in place.

You have my word that one thing that will remain constant and consistent, even through a pandemic, is our love for your child. Our team is here to support not only your child but you as well as we tackle a year like no other. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to myself or your child’s teacher with any questions, concerns and/or feedback.

Amablemente,

Kim
