Early Childhood Newsletter 1.31.2023
Estimadas familias de PCS,
It is hard to believe that this is the last day of January and the month of February is upon us! With the month of February comes the celebration of Black History month.
“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere” ~ Martin Luther King.
“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it” ~ George Santayana.
At PCS, we are committed to the work to continually bring not only this history to the forefront but also to ensure that all of our students see themselves within our curriculum and community. Our work with equity, diversity, and inclusion is continual. With that, February's Black History Month does offer the opportunity to shine a light on some of the stories, voices, and accomplishments that belong in our classrooms and curriculum.
Be sure to check out Mrs. Ramsey’s latest updates from the Library about the great line-up of February Choice Board and We Stories information sheet. These are great resources to explore at home.
A Note from our EC Nurse:
We need your help! We have had several students needing extra clothes to change into during the school day because of accidents or food/drink spills. Because of this, the nursing office is already running out of clothes to give out when students need them. We are asking for you to send a change of clothes in your child’s backpack. Please place a shirt, pants, underwear, and a pair of socks inside of your child’s backpack. If your child has an accident or spill, they will have the bag to take into the bathroom to clean up and change and place their old clothes in. If your child does have an accident, we then ask that you please clean and replace the clothes in case they are to need them again.
Clothing that is donated to the nursing office is also appreciated and will certainly go to use! Currently we could use boys and girls’ pants, sizes 4-7.
¡Gracias!
Abbie Mangogna, EC Nurse
